Oral presentations will be 20 minutes long (15 minutes for presentation and 5 for questions). Computer, slide, and overhead projectors will be available; please indicate your special requirements with your abstract submission. Participants are encouraged to prepare their presentations in MS PowerPoint and bring it to Quito on a CD or a memory stick.

Poster sessions will have a high profile and importance. Posters will be on display all day long and a special poster session - without competing oral presentations - is scheduled for each afternoon with beverages. Posters will be grouped by Symposium theme. The covered corridors of the colonial patio will be used for the poster sessions. Poster size is restricted to 90 cm wide by 150 cm high. Space will not be available for horizontally-oriented posters. Presenters are encouraged to provide ‘poster copies' as handouts.

The working language of the Cities on Volcanoes 4 is English and all abstracts should be presented in English. However, the possibility of simultaneous translation of English and Spanish in oral presentations is being entertained.
